Poul Petersen has a background as biologist from the University of Copenhagen in 1986. Since 2002, he has been employed at the Central EU office at the University of Copenhagen. As Expert Group Member, he was involved in the preparation of the Model Grant Agreement for both Framework Program 7 (FP7) and Horizon 2020. Furthermore, he has worked as National Contact Person (NCP) for Legal and Financial Issues since 2007, presently representing Iceland. During FP7, the University of Copenhagen was coordinating a number of Marie Curie grants involving American universities. The FP7 Model grant Agreement was not always well understood by American university administrators. For this reason, administrative staff from e.g. Berkeley, Yale and the University of Copenhagen developed a separate “Collaboration Agreement” template. This template has been used successfully in a number of FP7 and H2020 grants.
