Mari Riipinen works as a Head of Research Development Unit at the University of Turku, Finland. The Research Development Unit is responsible e.g. for research infrastructures, research ethics, Cris system, university’s strategic projects, the profiling areas of research and Open Science policies. Riipinen has also worked as a Research Liaison Officer at the Pre-Award Services for eight years. Riipinen has a PhD in human geography form the University of Oulu and master degree from the University of Turku. She was a PhD student in an EU Framework Programme project and had a teaching position at the Geography Department. Riipinen’s research focused theoretically on scaling social capital and empirically local people’s perceptions on land use.
