Neil Jacobs is Head of scholarly communications research at Jisc. Having established and directed Jisc’s open access service portfolio, he is now developing and implementing Jisc’s wider strategy to support research, with a particular focus on research information, open science, and analytics. Neil has been involved in research information and open science at Jisc since he joined in 2005, leading a range of programmes, projects, services and policy interventions. During 2017 Neil was seconded into the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy as head of open science, working with Government and the shadow UK Research and Innovation, and internationally, to clarify the UK’s position on open research.
