Mary Gray began her career as a researcher, with a PhD in Medicine (human genetics) from the University of Otago, New Zealand. In 2013 she moved to Canberra, Australia, to Manage the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation, which provides grants to early career researchers. Since 2014 Mary has worked at the Australian National University in Research Management. There she leads a team of five to tackle pre and post-award research matters and creates tools, workshops, and presentations for the university and is the Secretary of the ARMS ACT Chapter. She is currently studying a postgraduate diploma in Science Communication with an endorsement in creative non-fiction writing.
