Dr Eli Katunguka-Rwakishaya

Vice Chancellor, Kyambogo University

Professor Dr Eli Katunguka Rwakishaya is currently the Vice Chancellor, Kyambogo university since May 2017. He is a professor of Veterinary Medicine. He studied at Makerere university for the Bachelors degree (1976-1980), at University College Dublin for His Masters (19982-1984) and Glasgow university (1988-1992) for his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Being appointed Vice Chancellor, he served as Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs, Kyambogo university (2014-2017), Director of Research and Graduate training, Makerere university (2004-2013), Dean of Veterinary Medicine, Makerere University (1996-2004) and head of department of Veterinary Medicine, (1992-1996). He is a founder member and the President of the Eastern African Research and Innovation Management Association (EARIMA). He is also founder and executive director of African Initiative for Research Capacity development (AICaD). As a research administrator, he won many grants that supported Ph.D training and research capacity development in Makerere university.
