Annelies van Ravestijn switched from a scientific career to funding and grant management in 2009. She has worked at the Dutch Government in the field of Life sciences, managing several governmental funding programmes. After a few years she moved to one of the Dutch academic hospitals, Radboudumc, as a centrally located Grants & Funding account manager. She provides researchers and other health professionals with advice on funding programmes, supports them during the proposal development and writing phase and is involved in setting up contracts for awarded grants. Post-award she functions as a helpdesk for arising issues or project amendments. Her main expertise are public-private partnerships within FP7, H2020, NIH and Dutch Topsector related-funding instruments. Advising internal stakeholders about funding strategies, developments in funder policies and internationalisation opportunities is also part of the job.
