This pecha kucha will explore approaches to training for researchers – starting off with an overview of changes implemented to training provision at Queen’s, we will outline how we have moved to a modular approach of short small group sessions focused on different aspects of grant application policies and procedures.
The intention is to provide a case study of how we have moved from a one size fits all approach of intensive 3-4 hr training sessions to shorter, more frequent sessions that operate on an ‘on demand’ basis.
we will then move on to a wider discussion of how training is managed at other institutions as well as asking for feedback/insights on how it could be managed better. The aim of the session will be to share knowledge of our approach and to provide a forum for discussion on how training can be provided.
