The ORBIT Project Community Forum

The ORBIT (ORCID Reducing Burden and Improving Trust) Project is pleased to invite delegates from INORMS 2018 and interested members of the research community to a community forum, collocated with INORMS in Edinburgh. ORBIT is a global collaboration of funders and research infrastructure providers designed to increase the openness and re-usability of information collected and created by research funders. ORBIT represents a real chance to change the way that research information is shared for the better, and this community forum is your chance to find out more about the project and to learn how you can help to shape its future.

The forum will take place at 1530 BST on June 7th, after the closing sessions of the main conference. Co-chaired by Brian Haugen of the US National Institutes of Health and Josh Brown, Director of Partnerships at ORCID, this forum is a chance for the research management community to:

  • Find out more about the global collaboration that is driving the project
  • Learn about the project activities and plans
  • Discover how the project will enable better sharing and re-use of information between research performing organisations and funders
  • Meet representatives from participating funders and the project technical advisory group.

Attendees will have the chance to quiz the project team about their vision for the project, and to provide feedback on the work of the project so far.
